Washington County Old Jail Revisited!

We re-did the old jail, as scheduled. Members of P.E.G. joined us for the night. We had a record breaking 10 members request to show up and 8 actually came! (wow!?)

That many people, close quarters, and the lack of time (not to mention several new pieces of equipment which weren’t working properly...*note: read the freaking' manuals!*) led to a night that just didn't pan out as well as we had hoped.

-No abnormal pictures noted. Nothing unusual on video feeds.
-No specific EVPs stood out, I rechecked a few of them and we were able to discern who they were. The voices we occasionally here during daylight in the jail were not present for the event, no abnormal footsteps or sounds heard this time around.
-Nothing proven yet as to the oddity of why the hinges hold a magnetic charge, and why it goes DOWN with hinge-movement. Possibly heat-based??
-The big door, rocking chair, and smaller doors remained inactive and did not move for us this time.
-As usual, besides the bad window, and the hinges, no abnormal heat changes or EMF spikes. No weird feelings, either. Overall, a quiet night.

Milwaukee, Upstairs Flat

I arrived at the Milwaukee location with Alana and Jack, on time actually for once, and after a quick interview, we quickly set up and panned out into two small groups. focusing on the rooms mentioned by the tenant, we focused on the Childs room, the bedroom, and the hallway.

While no Abnormalities were noted in the hallway save for an extraordinary high EMF field generated by a fish tank, The nursery was another story. We had one plausible event where there was an orb, possibly dust, moving from person to person...the camera feed doesn’t show it to be as clear as I'd like...but hey. You get what you get! Also noted was a very, very cold feeling...it read 44.6 degrees on the non-contact infrared thermometer. The ambient air temp, and outside, was a balmy 78 degrees after dark, 82 prior to it, and humid.

While no EMFs were noted, and no EVPs collected, the amount of personal experiences, lack of explanations for the clients claims, and the "moving orbs which coincided with the cold spots, have left me to label this location as having SIGNIFIGANT PARANORMAL PHENOMENA or...haunted! yeah, you heard me! I said it! We've contacted the client who seems more at ease knowing she’s not going crazy...the phenomena still persists but hasn’t been quite so violent as of late.

MAYVILLE
The decision to do this location was an easy one, it was subject to a violent murder in the recent past, and had has claim to several phenomena. Apparitions, voices, footsteps...crazy stuff!
Back Story, the previous owners, (names are not being disclosed) had an abusive relationship, and eventually became violent. One night, things went terribly wrong. The husband brutally attacked his wife, and as she tried to crawl to the neighbor’s home, bleeding, her husband re-captured her, dragging her back to the garden shed (also the old family homestead) where he held her there, captive, and waited for her to die. The blood was never fully cleaned up...you can clearly see the paint difference where it was merely painted over. Seeing something so sick is simply horrifying, but it's also what gets people like us going!!

Kellie and Michael attended, the homeowners were very, very gracious hosts...feeding us supper and everything! We focused on two areas...one, the murder trail, and two, the upstairs hallway and bedroom, where other claims have been made. While nothing noteworthy came about the EMFs, EVPS, or video footage, there is one small clip where you hear a lock, then doorknob turn, and the door pops open, right in front of me!! Actually caught me off guard that time! Two or three strange orbs were shot, and also a few red objects noted in the sky??? Unsure what they are...we'll be posting them soon.
Overall, not an active night, but a memorable one. Thanks!
UPDATE: It's come to my attention that one of the children of the victim has committed suicide years back. My condolences...this truly is a sad case!
UPDATE again!! The home owner’s cat, which we got in several pics, has passed away shortly after our investigation. RIP kitty! (He was sick and old before we got there! Really!!!)

UFO DAZE

Michael attended the 21st Annual UFO Daze, doing what few paranormal groups have done...gone across the border from ghost-hunting to UFO related phenomena! Amazingly...I did not get stoned out of the village, burned at the stake, or chased by an angry mob. I DID, however, have a great time talking with the folks there, sharing experiences from both sides of the paranormal field, and had myself TWO killer Bratwurst! Also, Bensons Hideaway is a great, wonderful host, and makes KILLER beverages for those old enough to drink there...WOW. Two was plenty!

For the first part of the day, I set up, and talked to people, made some pendulums, and chatted with the local color. Around 4pm, I got to take stage and did a mini-presentation on Sleep Paralysis. They all told me I did a great job...I hope that wasn't just flattery...I really get nervous doing shows single handedly. *ahem* to group members!

A thanks again to thelightside.org and ICAR for hosting the event...it was a real pleasure and we hope to do it again next year, only better and better prepared! A special thanks to my wife, who gets yet another gold star for a kick-@$$ PowerPoint presentation that her and I whipped up the night before!

Oshkosh Riverside Memorial

While usually we come out here durring the bi-annual ghost-walk with FVSH, we chose to come alone this time, just as KMPI, as sort of a fun outing. This consisted of us wandering around, taking pictures, recordings, and generally taking in the ambiance that is the memorials. The Payne family, as well as other prominent families, are burried here, and the mosuleums stand testament to the wealth and importance of these families.

Also of note, was the "concrete dog" marker, made for the dog who, after his master was burried, came back, and lie in the cemetary, only to die of a broken heart, as close to his master as he could get (or so the legend goes).

Jim, who lives nearby, had a unique perspective on the property, living so close, and our finding are concurent with his: Not paranormal. Spooky? Maybe just a little.
